SATURDAY, 22 April 2006

• 8 am--Depart for All-day charter Bus Trip to Columbia & Charleston SC (paid registrants only; casual attire; sponsored by Wayne Pearson '70 & Southcoast Community Bank, Mt. Pleasant); includes snacks & bag lunch
• 9-10 am--Stop en route at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary (in Columbia, also founded by Bachman)
• Noon-5 pm--Visits to The Charleston Museum (has many Bachman holdings), St. John's Lutheran Church (where Bachman is buried), and Sewee Environmental Center (near I'on Swamp, where Bachman's Warbler was last seen; led by Charleston Natural History Society)
• 5-7 pm--Authentic Low Country Cook-out (Lutheran Coastal Retreat Center, Isle of Palms; casual attire)
• 3 p.m.--Afternoon matinee performance(s) of the John Bachman original play at Newberry Opera House, followed by discussion (Free admission for Newberry College students, faculty & staff with ID; open to public for $10 donation per ticket by calling 803-276-6264; Opera House; business casual attire; sponsored by Carter & Holmes Orchids & Newberry Books On Main)
